Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe, declared that China’s developmental achievements, led by the Communist Party of China, are globally remarkable, acknowledging its accomplishments, particularly in electricity generation.
In an interview monitored with China Central Television (CCTV) in Abuja on Wednesday, the minister expressed hope to deepen cooperation with Chinese enterprises to help bring an end to Nigeria’s protracted power shortages.
According to him, China is carrying everybody along, and that is why every country is embracing China, noting that the peaceful approach, the reform approach, and economic empowerment approach by President Xi Jinping and his cabinet are encouraging the rest of the world.
He stated that most of the big players in the industry today are from China. “China’s OEMs are much more involved in Nigeria today, and we are counting on and relying on Chinese OEMs and power companies to partner with us to fix Nigeria’s power challenges, especially in generation and transmission”, he said.
Tegbe emphasized that the Chinese are doing wonderful work in that area. (GSF)
