Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Tanzanian leader Samia Suluhu Hassan on June 3 while on state visit. A source close to the leadership of the African country told African Initiative.

The Tanzanian presidential delegation is expected to include Foreign Minister Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Minister of State in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment Kitila Mkumbo, Minister of Education Adolf Mkenda and Minister of Minerals Anthony Mavunde.

Samia Suluhu Hassan’s state visit will begin from June 3 to 5 and will be the first such event since the visit of Tanzania’s first president, Julius Kambarage Nyerere, to the USSR.

In May, a source in diplomatic circles told African Initiative that Samia Suluhu Hassan would speak at the SPIEF plenary session during her state visit to Russia and hold talks with Putin.

Hassan is also expected to receive an honourary doctorate award by RUDN University in Moscow.
