Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan is scheduled to visit Russia on a state visit from 3 to 6 June. This was announced by Tanzania’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Mahmoud Thabit Kombo during the opening of the Russia–Tanzania Business and Investment Forum, African Initiative reports.
According to Kombo, part of the programme of the visit includes meetings and events in Moscow, as well as in St Petersburg to participate in the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
The Russia–Tanzania Business and Investment Forum is taking place on 15 May as part of the 3rd meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Russia–Tanzania Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, led by Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov and Tanzania’s Minister of State in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment Kitila Mkumbo.
In April, the governments of Russia and Tanzania signed a memorandum of co-operation in the transport sector on the sidelines of the International Transport and Logistics Forum in St Petersburg.
