Abuja’s cultural scene came alive on Thursday night as rising Russian musicians delivered a spellbinding classical concert under the Rising Stars project.
Attended by over 250 guests, the performance featured talented students of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory — soprano M. Modeme, flutist M. Sokolova and pianist E. Saakian — whose artistry drew warm applause throughout the evening.

In his remarks at the occasion, Russian Ambassador A.L. Podelyshev, highlighted the power of music to bridge cultures, build trust and deepen mutual understanding.
Reminiscing the emotional depth of Sergei Rachmaninov to the rich melodies of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, the programme offered a journey through some of classical music’s most enduring works.
Also, pieces by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Igor Luchenok further showcased the diversity and timeless appeal of Russian musical heritage.

The atmosphere was intimate yet electric, with each performance drawing the audience deeper into a world of soaring vocals, delicate flute passages and masterful piano interpretation. (GSF)
