Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, on Thursday received on courtesy visit Joseph Tegbe, Nigeria’s new Minister of Power and Director-General of the Nigeria-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (NCSP) in Abuja.

In his verified X account (formerly twitter), Ambassador Yu congratulated Tegbe on his new role and thanked him for his contributions as Director-General in advancing China-Nigeria relations and cross-sectoral cooperation.
While reaffirming mutual commitment to deepening bilateral ties with Nigeria, the envoy reiterated China’s readiness to work with Nigeria in implementing the outcomes of the FOCAC Beijing Summit and the key consensus reached by the two heads of state.
He identified infrastructure, power, and energy as priority areas for deepening cooperation between the two countries, adding that such efforts would boost the high-quality development of the China-Nigeria comprehensive strategic partnership and deliver greater benefits to both peoples.
In his response, Tegbe reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to strengthening its relationship with China, describing the Asian nation as a vital development partner.
He expressed gratitude for China’s longstanding support for Nigeria’s socio-economic development.
The Minister also pledged to enhance collaboration with the Chinese Embassy and relevant Chinese institutions to advance practical initiatives in electricity infrastructure, manufacturing, and modern agricultural development.

Both sides agreed to maintain close coordination to ensure the timely implementation of agreed projects and to further elevate the strategic partnership. (GSF)
