Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Yu Dunhai, has reaffirmed China’s unwavering commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Nigeria, identifying shared modernization as a cornerstone of future cooperation.

The Ambassador made the pledge during a high-level interactive session with participants of the Senior Executive Course at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Plateau State.
Addressing the forum, Ambassador Yu shared insights into China’s governance experience and development trajectory while outlining Beijing’s policy toward Africa and recent initiatives—including the zero-tariff treatment for Nigerian exports. He described these measures as unlocking immense potential and broad prospects for China-Nigeria collaboration in advancing modernization.
The session served as a platform for robust exchanges on governance, development, and the evolving dynamics of the China-Africa partnership.
Ambassador Yu further reaffirmed that China remains fully committed to working hand-in-hand with Nigeria to strengthen strategic alignment, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and elevate bilateral ties to a new height. He described the partnership between the two countries as “not merely transactional but transformational—a true model of South-South cooperation that delivers tangible benefits for both our peoples.”
The engagement at NIPSS—a premier policy think-tank—reflects the growing emphasis on people-to-people exchanges and intellectual collaboration as vital components of the bilateral relationship. Participants lauded the interactive format, which enabled candid discussions on policy implementation, capacity building, and shared developmental challenges. (GSF)
