Brokered by Malaysia and observed by the Chinese officials, the leaders of Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to an immediate and unconditional ceasefire to end their border clashes.
Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has announced after talks between the neighboring South-East Asian nations.
“Both Cambodia and Thailand reached a common understanding as follows: An immediate and unconditional ceasefire with effect from 24 hours local time, midnight on July 28, 2025, tonight,” Prime Minister Anwar said after mediation talks in Malaysia.
Malaysian PM is the current chairman of the regional body Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN).
At least 35 people have been killed and more than 270,000 displaced by the worst fighting in over a decade between the neighboring countries.
