On Wednesday, Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria Yu Dunhai along with the Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu held a signing Ceremony for the Exchange of Notes on China’s Flood Relief Assistance Project to Nigeria.
The Signing Ceremony for the Exchange of Notes on China’s Flood Relief Assistance Project to Nigeria was held at the Federal Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning. The two parties signed the exchange of notes on behalf of their respective governments.
In his remarks, Ambassador Yu said that recently severe floods struck many regions of Nigeria, resulting in loss of life and property damage. The Chinese side expressed the sincere sympathy to Nigeria and will actively support its flood control and disaster relief efforts to help the people in the affected areas overcome difficulties at an early date.
The Ambassador maintained that China has always been Nigeria’s and Africa’s most reliable and steadfast friend and partner. China will actively promote the alignment between “Ten Partnership Initiatives” for China-Africa joint advancement of modernization and President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda”, and will work together to write a new chapter of the China-Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Responding, Minister Bagudu expressed deep gratitude to China for the flood relief assistance to Nigeria. The Minister also extended sincere condolences to China over the recent heavy rain and floods in many parts in China, and stated that Nigeria is willing to deepen cooperation with China in various fields, work together to address various challenges, and jointly create a bright future for the relations between two countries.
The envoy was accompanied to the Ministry by officials of Chinese Embassy, including Zhu Songbo, Cai Xinfa, Sun Luji, Zhang Yifan, and Chen Yao.
