Russia to Partner Morocco on Protecting Energy Facilities from Cyber Attacks

Russian Deputy Minister of Energy Roman Marshavin and Secretary-General of Morocco’s Ministry of Energy Transition Mohamed Oumed discussed sharing experience in protecting energy facilities from hacker attacks. This was reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry of Energy.

The parties discussed prospects for co-operation during the third meeting of the working group on energy co-operation. Marshavin noted that Russia has accumulated extensive experience in countering hacker attacks on energy facilities.

“We are ready to demonstrate how our energy facilities are protected against computer viruses and other impacts. All these developments and methods of protection we can share. We believe our countries have great potential for co-operation,” Marshavin stressed.

The parties also expressed interest in developing joint projects in the gas sector, in the modernisation and construction of power infrastructure and in renewable energy sources.

Earlier, Russia’s trade representative in Morocco Alexey Andreev told African Initiative in an interview about the kingdom’s growing interest in co-operation in the digital sphere. (GSF)
