Uganda Discovered Nine Oilfields Uganda

Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC) has discovered nine oilfields under the “Kasuruban” project, which is believed to contain significant hypothetical reserves. UNOC reported the discovery on social media.

“Early geological assessments indicate encouraging signs, warranting further detailed studies to determine the actual quantity and commercial viability of these prospects,” UNOC said.

According to preliminary estimates, the nine oil wells could yield up to 600 million barrels of oil.

Already, two oilfields are being developed by the French company TotalEnergies, China’s CNOOC and Uganda’s UNOC, Reuters reports.Commerciall production is expected to begin only in the second half of 2026. (GSF)
