The third Russia–Africa Summit and a series of related events will be held in Moscow in autumn 2026, this was disclosed by Roscongress Foundation.
According to the Roscongress, the agenda of the summit will feature a comprehensive review of cooperation between Russia and African countries across multiple sectors.
Participants are expected to outline long-term priorities for joint work in politics, security, economy and trade, science, technology and innovation, as well as culture and humanitarian cooperation.
The summit is also anticipated to produce a number of intergovernmental and interagency agreements covering trade, investment, scientific and technological collaboration, and cultural-humanitarian ties.
Yuri Ushakov, Aide to the Russian President, has been appointed by President Putin as chairman of the organizing committee for the events.
Commenting on the upcoming gathering, Anton Kobyakov, Advisor to the Russian President, said the summit and related activities are intended to strengthen Russia’s comprehensive cooperation with African states and define new formats of interaction both bilaterally and within multilateral frameworks.
It will be recalled that the first Russia–Africa summit took place in October 2019 in Sochi under the co-chairmanship of President Vladimir Putin and the Chairperson of the African Union, President of Egypt Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, while the second summit took place St. Petersburg in August 2023.
