Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, arrived in Beijing on Saturday at the invitation of the Government of the People’s Republic of China to advance and conclude negotiations on the establishment of the Model Integrated Poultry Development Project in Kaduna State.

The visit follows earlier discussions held on November 5, 2025, with the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, H.E. Yu Dunhai, at the Kaduna State Liaison Office in Abuja.

The governor is accompanied by a delegation led by the Director-General of the Nigeria–China Strategic Partnership, Mr. Joseph Tegba. The joint delegation highlights the national significance of the proposed agricultural initiative, estimated at approximately USD $200 million.

According to official projections, the project is set to become one of the most ambitious poultry ventures in West Africa, with the capacity to generate more than USD $450 million annually and create over 350,000 direct and indirect jobs across the poultry value chain. The initiative is expected to boost food security, accelerate agro-industrialisation, enhance export potential, and position Kaduna State as a leading agribusiness hub on the African continent.

During the visit, Governor Sani will hold strategic meetings with China Communications Construction Company and other major stakeholders in China’s agricultural value-chain sector to deepen technical cooperation and secure long-term investment commitments.

He reiterated Kaduna State’s commitment to attracting world-class investments that create economic opportunities and improve livelihoods, particularly for young people.

Governor Sani also expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for selecting Kaduna State as the pilot location for the landmark project, and to the Chinese Government for its continued partnership. (GSF)
