Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Ministry has announced the successful participation of Nigeria in the Seminar on Industrial Cooperation and New Industrialisation under the Global Development Initiative, organized by the Academy for International Business Officials (AIBO) in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, from March 19 to April 1, 2026.

Speaking in Beijing at the joint closing ceremony, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa, delivered remarks on behalf of the Nigerian delegation and other fellow participants.

In his remarks, he commended the Government of China and the management of AIBO for what he described as an intellectually enriching and transformative programme.
Mr. Ebienfa expressed profound appreciation to the Vice President and staff of AIBO for organizing the high-level seminar.

Ebienfa also acknowledged the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Abuja for facilitating the nomination and sponsorship of Nigerian participants, noting that the programme provided a valuable platform for capacity building, strategic learning, and international exchange.

According to him, participants were warmly received upon arrival in Beijing and provided with a conducive environment for learning and professional engagement.

He emphasized that the quality of lectures, the expertise of the distinguished faculty, and the carefully curated study visits significantly enhanced participants’ understanding of China’s industrial transformation and modernization trajectory.

The Ministry’s spokesperson further noted that a major highlight of the programme was the exposure to China’s industrial development model through visits to key national landmarks and industrial hubs, including the Great Wall of China, the Museum of the Communist Party of China, the Suzhou Industrial Park, and the Suzhou-Changshu Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Mr. Ebienfa added that the insights gained from the seminar would contribute meaningfully to Nigeria’s industrialization efforts, particularly in promoting sustainable development, technology transfer, and strengthened international cooperation.

On behalf of the ministry, he reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to deepening collaboration with global partners, including China, in pursuit of inclusive industrial growth and shared development objectives. (GSF)
