Russia is actively working to simplify visa requirements with friendly countries, including those in Africa. TASS News Agency reported, citing a statement by Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova at a briefing in Syktyvkar.
According to Zakharova, Russia is with colleagues from friendly countries to carry out work that is genuinely aimed at further simplifying travel conditions for citizens. “This work is being carried out actively and consistently”, she said.
She added that ttalks are in progress with a number of other interested states: in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
Zakharova also noted that following the introduction of temporary visa-free travel, there had been a sharp increase in tourist and humanitarian exchanges.
In August, Zakharova noted that at the third Russia–Africa Summit, to be held in Moscow on 28–29 October, a package of intergovernmental documents and commercial contracts will be signed. (TASS/Afr Initiative/GSF)
